Hanna, who is also a familiar face as a route setter and general hall helper at Kaamos, works as a coach. Professionally, Hanna is an expert in movement and mobility, being a licensed physiotherapist. She graduated as a physiotherapist in June 2024 from Metropolia University of Applied Sciences. In addition, Hanna has completed several supplementary courses, particularly in training programming and supplemental training.
Hanna has over 12 years of climbing experience. She has climbed in a variety of disciplines, from competition climbing to rope climbing, trad climbing, and ice climbing, but her greatest love lies in bouldering, both indoors and outdoors. Her first outdoor climbing experience came just over a month after starting the sport, in the Lofoten Islands. Since then, outdoor bouldering has been a consistent part of her life alongside other commitments. Outdoors, Hanna has climbed a couple of routes graded at 7c difficulty.
Indoor climbing and systematic strength and climbing training have been part of Hanna’s training history for many years. She has competition climbing experience from Boulder League competitions and the Finnish Bouldering Championships in 2018, where she placed 5th! Currently, bouldering is the most prominent aspect of Hanna’s climbing. Most recently, Hanna has gained a new perspective on climbing as a route setter, which, in her own words, has developed her technical climbing skills by light years. She is happy to share this knowledge as a coach.
As a coach and physiotherapist, Hanna’s core principles are safe and progressive training, purposefully chosen exercises, fun, relaxation, the joy of learning, and a love for the sport attitude. Her particular areas of interest are skill and technique training, strength training, mobility, and considering various musculoskeletal issues and injuries when planning supplemental training for climbing. If you want to develop yourself comprehensively as a climber, you’re guaranteed to get help from Hanna for almost anything!
Tuukka Peteri
Kaamos Climbing CEO, Head route setter
Areas of expertise: climbing technique training, route-reading skills, footwork, projecting
At Kaamos, you’ll also find bouldering expert Tuukka as an instructor! Usually, this friendly beast is seen climbing ladders and screwing holds to the wall as part of his route-setting work. In addition to his nearly 14-year route-setting career, Tuukka has extensive experience in outdoor climbing. He has completed hundreds of first ascents and brushed boulders outdoors. His list also includes multiple 8A boulders, both repeats and first ascents in Finland, as well as an 8A repeat ascent in the bouldering mecca, Fontainebleau, France.
Tuukka is also a versatile indoor climber. His strengths include footwork, balance control, route-reading, and projecting skills. Tuukka has solid experience in competition climbing, particularly in route setting; throughout his career, he has set routes for six Finnish National Championships, one Nordic Championship, and numerous smaller competitions in both Finland and abroad. So, when it comes to route setting or climbing them, Tuukka has plenty of expertise.
For Tuukka, the most important aspects of training are fun and safety. Training doesn’t have to be all serious hard work—it’s okay to joke around, and you should leave the gym with a smile after a good session. Pick Tuukka as your coach if you want to develop rock-solid footwork or precise route-reading skills to send your projects!
